Council of Social Services (Dunedin)
One year ago, on 22 February 2011, Christchurch was hit by the most devastating of a series of major earthquakes. Council of Social Services (Dunedin) joined forces with other local organisations to establish the ‘Christchurch Embassy’ at Dunedin Railway Station – providing a one-stop information and support service for the citizens of Christchurch who moved south – temporarily or permanently – in the days and weeks that followed.
As we pause and reflect on the past twelve months, we encourage visitors to our website to leave messages of support for individuals and community organisations, which we’ll pass on to the Christchurch Council of Social Services. Not-for-profit organisations can struggle at the best of times, so the added complexity of a major natural disaster occurring during already-difficult economic times has made life especially challenging for our Christchurch counterparts. Our thoughts and best wishes are with them.
Please leave a message of support on our Thinking of Christchurch page.

Kia kaha Christchurch.
